What You Need to Know About the Link Between Depression and Procrastination
There is a definite link between procrastination and depression.
The good news is that just because you procrastinate it doesn't mean that you have depression. The bad news is that if you are a "professional procrastinator" you could be on a slippery slope to depression. If you already suffer from depression, chances are you are a procrastinator.
Procrastination is a very negative thing. Once you get into a habit of procrastinating things, you get so used to it that it's very hard to get out of it. Some major effects of it are you end up piling up all your work and because of this you may leave some of your work undone or done shabbily. Procrastinating makes your job unpleasant, as you have to rush through to complete it rather than enjoy it. Sometimes it may also affect your confidence, and leave you feeling depressed as you always have lot of things undone. - Timothy: Trainer in a Call Center
When you are facing procrastination and depression combined, overcoming procrastination is just not that easy. Part of depression is an overwhelming feeling of lack of motivation, which leads to the dreaded procrastination/depression cycle.
