With limited technical know-how I turned my passion for getting the most out of my time into an income generating website. These days Hubby and I earn our living from our 5 income generating hobby websites, including Taming Time.

Creating a Better Lifestyle
Back in 2007, Hubby and I started a landscape gardening business. Pretty soon it was thriving and making us a rather nice income. When we started to employee people, I took a step back and was ready to start my own personal project. I really wanted something that could make a bit of money, but also be a creative outlet.
I wanted my project to meet these requirements

Did not have to deal with customers or clients

How My Creative Outlet Turns Into Real Income
I had heard about people making money from blogs and websites based around a certain topic. It sounded like a great idea... in theory! But where was a technology challenged person like me even supposed to get started?
Somewhere on my web surfing travels I stumbled across a program that promised to teach you how to turn any passion or hobby into an income generating website.
Because I was wary of anything to do with 'making money online' I got stuck in and did my research. I wanted to uncover whether it was a legitimate company or not, and to discover any catches or snags.

When One Website Becomes Five Websites
When I realized the power of passive income, I was determined to leverage it. I knew that my best shot at stabilizing my income was to diversify so I started thinking about building another website. I now run a total of three income generating websites (including this one).
Hubby was witnessing my success and he wanted a piece of the pie, and he now runs two websites himself. We make our living from the 5 income generating websites we have between us. What happened to our landscape gardening business? Well we sold it in 2010 and we now are on the road travelling long term. We support ourselves solely from our income generating websites.
It is not necessary to have several websites to make a good living online. It is possible to earn several hundreds or thousands a month from one website. However for us we like the added security of a diversified income stream, and having different projects to work on so we don't get bored!!
Choosing a Niche
I feel that it is best to start with one website and learn the ropes before getting to carried away. It is best to build a website around a hobby or passion as you will find it easier to work on that way. You could make a website about your favorite craft, sport or cause. It really is up to you.
